After spending much time online searching every type of way I could to find the mystery city of Exin, Poland, today I finally succeeded!
You all know how a search engine works. A person that is great at finding things must know how to ask the question correctly. Sometimes I can ask the right question quickly and sometimes I don’t ask the right question for a LONG time. This search took me a long time. Years. What was the correct question? “Map of Pomerania 1944”. Suddenly there was what I have been searching for! Exin, Poland actually existed and there it is in on a map of Poland. On the map below, Exin is in the bottom right corner circled in green and I’ve also circled Stettin in blue. Stettin was the city we once thought was Exin.
Now that I have determined that this part of the story is accurate and where in the world it was, I still have to figure out what farm my great grandparents lived on that was within walking distance of Exin. The work continues but this is a very exciting addition! If you click on the map and hit ctrl +, it will zoom in very nicely.

FYI – control+ for zooming mut be either OS or browser dependent. Using OS X El Capitan and Chrome it was command+ to zoom
